Top Down Jumper Workshop with Fiona Morris
If you are interested in our Top Down Jumper Workshop, we recommend coming along to our Knitting a Gauge Swatch Workshop beforehand to work out the best yarn to use. If you would like to come along to both, add each workshop to your cart for an exclusive discount.
Knitting a jumper from the top down has become popular in the last few years. The garment is knitted in the round so there is no sewing up required once the knitting is finished. The other big advantage of knitting a garment this way is that you can try it on to check the fit and length as you make the garment.
The most complex part of making a garment is the upper body, neckline and shoulders. When working from the top down this is the part of the knitting you complete first. In the class you will be given a pattern for a raglan sleeve, round neck jumper knitted in a chunky yarn. During the class you will start knitting the jumper and will be able to complete most of the upper part of the garment in the class. You will be provided with detailed instructions on how to complete the jumper.
