The Octopus Initiative was founded in Denmark in 2013 with a group of volunteers crocheting colourful octopi with high quality cotton to distribute amongst preemies. The tentacles of the charming, cuddly creatures are like an umbilical cord which, for the little preemies, are a pleasant calming reminder of their time in the mother’s womb. This pattern includes seven different colour combinations, with each colour representing a different emotion. Including Love, Strength, Gentleness, Trust and Joy.
This is not a piece of clothing, you are purchasing a knitting pattern to create your own garment. Patterns are a physical, printed copy and will be posted to you by Royal Mail.

The amount of balls you will need depends on how many meters there are in a ball. The Creativa Fino has 125m in a 50g ball so please take this into consideration when buying yarn for this pattern.
