Top Down Jumper Course with Fiona Morris
If you are interested in our Top Down Jumper Workshop, we recommend coming along to our Knitting a Gauge Swatch Workshop beforehand to work out the best yarn to use. If you would like to come along to both, add each workshop to your cart for an exclusive discount.
Knitting a jumper from the top down has become popular in the last few years. The garment is knitted in the round so there is no sewing up required once the knitting is finished. The other big advantage of knitting a garment this way is that you can try it on to check the fit and length as you make the garment.
The most complex part of making a garment is the upper body, neckline and shoulders. When working from the top down this is the part of the knitting you complete first.
During the 1st class you will start knitting the jumper and will be able to knit a good section of the yoke. You will then have homework to complete the yoke before the next week. In the 2nd class you will divide the stitches for the body and sleeves, cast on extra stitches at the underarms and continue to knit the garment
