Continental Knitting with Fiona Morris

There are 2 main styles of knitting; English or ‘throwing’ where the yarn is held in the right hand and Continental or ‘picking’ where the yarn is held in the left hand. It can be useful to be able to knit with yarn in either hand e.g. when working stranded knitting but it can also help if you find your current style of knitting causes repetitive stress problems and many people find they can also knit faster using the Continental method. This 2 hour morning class will introduce you to the basics of Continental knitting.
What to bring
+ Yarn - smooth light coloured wool or wool mix yarn is probably the easiest type of yarn to learn with. We suggest a DK or Aran weight yarn.
+ Knitting needles that are the recommended size for the yarn you are using.

Each workshop will be 2 hours long and have space for 10 attendees as well as the instructor and shop owner. An email will be sent out several days before with instructions on where to park and how to find us.
